Welcome

the brier breton blog

I am so happy to share that April was another busy month for product photography, this past month brought returning clients as well as new ones that I would be eager to work with again in the future.

Here is a quick look at the in-studio and on-location sessions:

Salty Sea Dog Designs

I love working with products from Salty Sea Dog Designs these mugs are so creative and I can attest that they are well made – we have been using their mugs daily for the past couple of years and they are holding up amazingly well. This styled product shoot took place in my home studio to create content for their new stickers and enamel pins. I liked these stickers so much I still have some on my laptop, phone, and water bottles.

Fox & Flower Design

This was the first time I worked with Fox & Flower Design so we tested the waters together with the Go-To 25+ image package – this provided me with time to create two main setups for each product to be photographed in. I really enjoyed styling the concrete candles, plant pots, and other smaller decor items.

Jaybee Design

I think I’m running out of things to say about Jaybee Design because they are included in every blog post 🙂 I am so grateful to have consistent clients like Jaclyn – she designs and prints her own greeting cards locally in Calgary. She also is the owner and operator of Collab YYC (also included in most of my posts!).

Collab YYC

I had the chance to stop into Collab in South Centre Mall to capture the new vendor products the story will carry for a three month period, that is the great part about this store – there is always something new to check out.

Oxeye Floral Co.

Alya, the Artist and owner of Oxeye Floral Co. creates beautiful pressed flower art pieces in Calgary. You can purchase original keepsake pieces as well as prints and products created from her floral designs. Ayla was very organized for this large product shoot, and included a variety of props for on brand styling including dried florals, vases, pots, and plants.

Use it Again Store

The Use it Again Store is a new refillery and natural products store in Calgary selling bulk items in reusable containers as well as environmentally friendly products like water bottles, cold pressed soaps, beeswax wraps, natural toothpaste and so much more. For a two hour, in-store product shoot we captured a lot of content! After taking photos of the store I set up two different set-ups for the products using a few of the backdrops and props I selected based on the Brand Guide provided by their Marketing Company, Upper Brand Marketing.

Essentials by Nature

Essentials by Nature creates products made out of natural essential oils and other plant-based, all-natural ingredients in small batches out of Edmonton, Alberta. Jill, the owner of Essentials by Nature ships a few products to my home studio on a monthly basis for a styled product mini session. These products have taken over my morning and nighty routine, so I can tell you just how amazing they are. This mini session included the Charcoal and Rose and Clay face masks. To prepare or theses sessions Jill and I share a Pinterest board where she saves her dream content and product styling ideas. It was clear Jill wanted a little more than a simple product photo, she was looking for textures and showing the mask off and in use.

Natura Soy

My studio always smells amazing when I have the chance to work with candles from Natura Soy! This styled product sessions was to help launch their spring line – think lilacs, peonies, and fresh mint scents.

Friday Sock Co.

I was happy to have another sock delivery to the studio from Friday Sock Co. This session was to capture photos for their website and social of their 5 pack baby socks that come in a machine washable bag to keep them all together as well as a few new Men’s and Women’s designs.

Little May Papery

Bring on the colour! I love the branding for Little May Papery, although the styling is minimal it is the pops of pastel colours that really make this kind of product shoot fun, eye catching, and complimentary to the designs.
