Welcome

the brier breton blog

As I sit down to write a recap of March it is the middle of May, I can hardly believe it. February felt sooo long but April flew right on by! March proved to be a very busy month for me at Brier Breton Photography as well as with the rascals at home, my youngest is in school only 2.5 hours a day/ 4 days a week so I am not full-time in this yet.

Here is a quick look at the amazing local businesses I had the chance to work with in March. Even though shopping is limited at the moment and in-person markets are paused you can still support local – all of the businesses I work with offer local pick up or Canada wide shipping.

Take it n’ Leave it

Kim from Take it n’ Leave it ended up needed to book two separate shoots for the month and I was happy to be able to make that timing work for her. First up was a quick product mini session for just a few of their new designs.

Next up was the Schitt’s Creek product themed shoot!! This was so fun! It was the first time Take it n’ Leave it released a full collection and if you are a fan of the show and are an animal lover you’ll want to check these out.

Friday Sock Co

Always a favourite to work with, Friday Sock Co sent over their new floral designed purposely mismatched socks complete with plantable seed paper – how cool is that?!

Bobby Food

I love working with Jana from Booby Food, her product is like nothing else I work with yet it is a great product to style. Booby Food is freeze dried breastmilk that can be added to smoothies or foods as you transition your baby to solids. Jana provided a full list of meals and snacks to pair/style the freeze dried milk with as well as all of the fruits, veggies, and snacks I needed to make it happen.

Collab YYC

It is always a treat to stop into Collab and check out the new products and have a chat with Jaclyn, the owner – oh and take some photos! We schedule a 1 hour in-store session every 3 months to capture the new items for their social and website, Jaclyn is always very organized and the store is immaculate so we are able to fit in a lot of content in a one hour session.

Bloom Body Co.

This was the first time working with Bloom Body Co. and of you haven’t heard of them yet let me be the first to tell you how amazing they are – the owners and the products! Sara and Sarah, the owners, booked two sessions for March. They request a styled product session and a custom styled session with a lifestyle feel, they thoughtfully provided some of the ingredients they use in their products for styling.

The Small Shop Pop Up Mother’s Day Boxes

This was a fun mini session to help promote the launch of Mother’s Day Boxes by The Small Shop Pop Up. Each Box was curated with products from Canadian owned small businesses. I wanted to keep all 3 boxes!

TISH Jewelry

It was such a treat to work with Lateisha from TISH Jewelry, capturing new brand images in her home studio as well as simply styled product photos for the launch of her spring line in my studio. Her jewelry is beautiful designed and so well made – the earrings and rings are my favourites.

Jaybee Design

Stickers, Notepads, Cards, and Subscription Boxes – oh my! This was the second product shoot for Jaybee Design this year, and I always look forward to checking out the new cards designs and products Jaclyn is preparing to launch. If you are a stationery fan, the monthly subscription boxes are the way to go and will have you covered for all your gift giving and holiday card needs.

Pretty in Print by Urban Cowgirl Co.

Updated name, same beautiful dusters and kimonos. The spring line for Pretty in Print is gorgeous and no joke, I easily styled each item with clothes from my own closet. These can add style to almost any outfit with little effort, and are all designed and made in Lethbridge, Alberta. I bought one for my sister this past Christmas and may have dropped a few hints for my own birthday coming up.
